Abramov A.V. Career Trajectories of the CPSU Leadership in 1953–1985

The article contains a comprehensive analysis of the career trajectories of the members of the CPSU leadership in the post-Stalin period (1953–1985): their specificity is examined, the patterns of achievement of political power are revealed. The author concludes that in reaching the peaks of political power, the most important role was played by a career in party structures, which was often supplemented by work in state structures and public organizations, which in many cases contributed to the success in political activity.
